Best Before Vs. Use By Dates
At Price Panda, we believe in reducing waste, saving you money, and making the most of perfectly good products. Some of the items we stock may be short-dated, but that doesn’t mean they’re unsafe to use.
Refers to quality, not safety. Food is at its best until this date but usually fine to eat afterwards, though taste or texture may change. Common for pasta, tins, biscuits, snacks, and chocolate. We stock these short-dated items because they’re still tasty and great value.
Refers to safety. Food must be eaten before this date, as it can be unsafe afterwards, even if it looks or smells fine. Common for fresh meat, dairy, and chilled meals. At Price Panda we would only sell these items if they had plenty of safe shelf life left.
